Clay face packs in general have been used for many thousands of years. It is said that Cleopatra used clay dug from the Nile in Eqypt and the Arabian desert. The romans too used them in their spas and baths. Rhassoul / Ghassoul in particular is known to have been used for at least 1,200 years where it's use was recorded back in the 8th century - who can say how long it was used before it was actually written down?

In the modern age, Rhassoul lava clay is widely used in expensive Spas worldwide aswell as moroccan Hammams and Turkish baths. It truly is a versatile and fantastic substance, detoxifying, nourishing and restoring.

USAGE:

HAIR: Activate clay by combining into a paste with a small amount of warm water, massage into scalp and work into hair from root to tip. Allow 20 - 40 minutes and rinse clean.
FACE: Apply activated clay to face avoiding eyes. Gently rinse clean after 15 minutes.
BODY: After activating the clay with water as above, use a thick cloth to apply, leave for 20 to 40 minutes and rinse.

Directions

To activate clay:

mix into a paste using warm water and allow to rest for 15 minutes. Apply activated clay to skin avoiding eye area. Gently rinse clean after 15 minutes. For best results, activated clay should not come into contact with metallic utensils.
